Course Overview
Teachers love being in a classroom and spending time with their students fostering a face to face supportive learning environment, yet an increasing number of teachers are now discovering the flexibility and adaptability of the virtual classroom. The 21st century requires educators to keep up to pace with continuous social and cultural changes which swiftly affect the teaching practice.
Course Objectives
The webinar will provide insight to the online classroom and help teachers feel more confident Familiarise with a teaching platform and basic platform features and functions Develop awareness in planning for an online lesson Transfer face to face teaching model to an online context
Learning Outcomes
Reflect on and understand the differences between face to face and online teaching Develop skills for managing an online classroom and developing a rapport with students Understand how to transition to a new teaching approach Be able to plan for and deliver effective online lessons
Course Procedures
The webinar drives real-time interaction with the participants, offering a variety of presentations, polls, games and live screen applications. The session is organised according to a 3-stage plan: introductory discussions, core focus and round up reflection and discussion.
Assessment Procedure
Participants will be monitored throughout the session by the host and co-host. Participants will be expected to use the platform tools as part of their assessment. Polls and quizzes will be used throughout the webinar for assessment of specific outcomes.
