Teaching English with 6 bricks!
Course Overview
Through fun and short activities with sets of LEGO® DUPLO® bricks in six bright colours, children can practice their memory, movement, creativity and more. Activinspire: A basic introduction to Interactive Panel Software
Course Overview
The main aim of the session is to provide teachers with practical ideas on how to create and deliver content through Promethean's basic Interactive White Board Software, namely Activinspire. This session is aimed at teachers who have never or at least, hardly every used an interactive panel or interactive whiteboard before.
Course Objectives
This session aims at getting teachers accustomed to the way in which content in created and delivered through Activinspire. Teachers will go through a series of guided tasks that will get them to build their own content through Activinspire whilst directly targeting a specific Language item, skill or subskill of their choice.

Course Procedures
The session is split into 2 parts across 5 tasks. The first part consists of an initial demo followed by a task. The second part involves providing the participants with 4 guided tasks on how to apply the various functions within a language classroom.

Classflow: An introduction to the next generation of Interactive Panel Software
Course Overview
The main aim of the session is to provide teachers with practical ideas on how to create and deliver content through the latest web-based Interactive White Board Software, namely Classflow. Classflow takes BYOD to the next level by linking all the devices in the class to provide a customised and personalised approach.

This session aims at getting teachers accustomed to the way in which content in created and delivered through Classflow. Teachers will go through a series of guided tasks that will get them to build their own content through Classflow whilst directly targeting a specific Language item, skill or subskill of their choice.

As teachers are working hard to adapt to the new reality of online teaching, many find themselves overwhelmed in having to come to grips with technology, new tools and a different way of organising materials and lessons. This session will foster understanding of how to plan out and prepare for meaningful and engaging lessons choosing resources and tools thoughtfully.

It's all fun and games learning language through play
Course Overview
In today's information and activity intense world, engagement is one of a teacher's biggest challenges. We take a look at the importance of the fun factor in class through a series of hands-on activities and games. We will reflect on what we have experienced and see what the dangers are, if any, of having too much fun in class.
Course Objectives
The main objective of the session is to provide teachers with different takes on familiar and known activities that incorporate that extra bit of fun by getting students out of their chairs and their hands busy. We also target the use of digital aids through the use of video games for language learning.

Course Procedures
The session will provide participants with the opportunity to experience a series of fun and engaging activities and get them to compare their activities to their more conventional counterparts. Reflection will take place where we will discuss the difference felt throughout the activities and the effects of the "fun element" on the learning process.

After each segment activity time will be allocated to getting the participants to reflect on target audience, effectiveness, and engagement. At the end of the session, in groups, participants will be given a selection of standard classroom activities and provide recommendations on how to adapt them.

TEFL Skills Toolkit
Course Overview
A large segment of the foreign student population in Malta comes to class with a solid foundation of passive knowledge related to grammar and vocabulary but not much when it comes to actual communicative skills practice. This 4-hour session will cover a collection of engaging and hands-on activities that promote interaction and target the 4 skills and their subskills with efficiency and effectiveness.

The main objective of the session is to help teachers experiment with and feel more confident in using a variety of interactive activities that target the skills and subskills of English.

The online teacher's toolkit
Course Overview
Now that we are all used to the different platforms available, teachers need their tools. Without access to physical handouts, cuisinaire rods, IWBS or whiteboard markers teachers now need to be equipped with new tools to take on the virtual classroom. During this session we take a look at a selection of tools that are freely available online.
Course Objectives
The session aims to aid teachers in providing the end learner with a closer more engaging experience in the online classroom by increasing awareness of and providing access to a number of online tools that facilitate the learning process.

Course Procedures
The participants will be given a general introduction to online teaching and the shift that teachers need to make when transferring their teaching to an online environment. A series of activities that make use of the targeted tools will be delivered and reflected upon.

The students will be interacting with the tools throughout the session and asked to reflect on the effectiveness, ease of use and personal opinion on the application of the targeted tools. A self-evaluation poll will be carried out at the end of the session.
